US' Path to 1 Million Deaths

US President Joe Biden has marked the tragic milestone of one million COVID-19 deaths with flags at the While House flown at half-staff, but the shocking numbers during US' anti-pandemic path are not limited to this one: 200,000 American children became "coronavirus orphans," 38% of US households reported serious financial problems, and crimes against Asian Americans increased. People globally are wondering how the world's biggest power ended up with the most COVID-19 deaths. There is not just one single answer. Slow response, political leadership failure, the rise of populism and anti-intellectualism and deep-root racism, are some of the contenders.
